"We loved everything about this resort! All of the restaurants were a delicacy. The beach was beautiful and about a 5 minute walking distance from our hotel room. Our room was clean and beautiful with an amazing view. There are activities and events to do every night. From karaoke, vendors, shows, to bowling and a night club. "Mahekal is a beautiful resort. The lush foliage and palapa “cabins” make you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything, but it’s very convenient to great restaurants. It was peaceful and serene. The staff are all amazing, especially Meraz, Claudia and Jesus Brito in the Revive Spa. The hammocks in the balcony are just an added bonus. If looking for a party scene or on-property nightlife, this isn’t the place."

"Very nice resort - but not great ocean front. Limited access to the ocean and very rocky shoreline. Lots of seaweed - but staff were trying to clean it everyday. Food was very good, but booking system for dinners was difficult to coordinate for more than one room. Crepe/ice cream truck and sausage cart was great! Staff was very friendly and property was clean. Smaller resort, but I would go back!"

"The Reef 28 was the best stay we’ve had in a long time! We stumbled across it last minute but it’s our new Playa favorite. The service was spectacular but the food… just wow! I could eat the sea bass in the main restaurant every night. Adults only and definitely add the all inclusive, worth it! Heads up, there’s a few bars on 28th that are pretty loud and right under the balconies on that side. Thanks to all that made our stay so enjoyable."

"I loved the clean, simple and elegant look of everything. Our room was cleaned daily. Mini bar stocked daily. Had a bottle of champagne on arrival. They decorated the room for my husband’s birthday! All staff was always nice and attentive. My only complaint is they didn’t have many servers around the pool area. Food was ok. Would definitely come back. "
