"The landlord is very nice and helpful. The property is very clean and decorative. This is the most comfortable place during our vacation in Japan. Strongly recommend this wonderful house. "

"Very friendly owners and staff. Clean, comfortable property, and it was a great experience staying in an old house. Highly recommend, as long as you are ok with a shared bath."

Ranzan Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The Ranzan Hotel is located in a great walkable section of Kyoto. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, but the bathroom fixtures are dated. The air conditioner had a hard time keeping the room cool during the heatwave."
"Le buffet déjeuner était délicieux et toujours plein, même lorsque l’on arrivait vers la fin du service. Les bains étaient propres, nous avions accès à plusieurs options dont un bain de méditation. La chambre était spacieuse pour un hôtel japonais, mais le lit était très dur (nous nous sommes habitués après quelques nuits). Dans l’ensemble, nous avons eu une très belle expérience !"
"It's just a few minutes walk to the Kyoto station which makes getting in and out of the cith easy. Not far from many of the local attractions. The hotel has an osen which is nice. "
"We booked a large four-bed room at Hotel Emion in Kyoto. It was perfect for our family - room was super spacious and comfortable. The hotel’s in a really convenient spot too. There's a small JR line from the airport that connects straight to Kyoto Station and was wheel chair friendly.
The public baths were clean and were mostly empty (surprising). There’s also a vending machine in the hotel, plus a 7-Eleven right next door. There are also a few restaurants inside the hotel.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back!"
"We spent 1 night at this traditional Japanese inn. Our room was great and it was a wonderful experience to stay somewhere with tatami mats and sleep on futons. The riverside hotel is located in the most stunning, quiet, and peaceful forest. We enjoyed exploring the quiet beauty of it. We chose the half board rate which gave us supper and breakfast. The traditional food was delicious and very filling and eating riverside while it was raining was a highlight of our family trip to Japan. We did not use the onset as it was just too hot outside and have a warm bath did not seem refreshing to us. The shuttle to the train station made things very convenient. The property is old, and can use an update, but it was the location that was important to us. We had a wonderful time. "
"A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location! "
