Stayed in the room with a private bath, and its own interior water feature/mineral water stream. Possibly the best room(s - it was more of a suite) I’ve ever stayed in.
Clean tatami mats, lovely meal, great private bath - we spent a lot of our visit just sitting next to the small waterfall/stream and reading.
It was a beautiful mountain-side ryokan where my wife and I stayed a few days on our honeymoon. The calmness and serenity we felt here was second to none. We booked the room with a private tub and it had a view to a back garden that, although small, was a beautiful backdrop to our room and small private bath.
Had the most wonderful experience, the hotel was lovely and the staff were so kind and thoughtful and professional. We stayed in the room with the half open air bath and it was so relaxing. We booked a private onsen bath and the waters were very soothing. The room itself was beautiful, and very comfortable to sleep in. The banquet breakfast was delicious and so lovingly prepare prepared. But most importantly, the staff were so courteous at every moment and did everything they could to make our stay a great experience. We strongly recommend Togetsutei and look forward to returning one day!
We had a lovely time staying here. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and the bath house was so relaxing at the end of a busy walking day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something quieter and traditional.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, complete, and comfortable. Additionally, the facilities are exemplary including the private onsen. My whole stay in this property is very relaxing.
Amazing ryokan. Perfectly located and the rooms with Japanese bath overlooking the bridge are incredible. Dinner and breakfast are well worth including for a true Kyoto Ryokan experience.
Togetsutei is wonderful in every way! During our stay the staff was exceptional, the room was large and comfortable, and the onsen with view was superb. We needed assistance finding a dinner location and the staff made wonderful recommendations and even provided help navigating there. I hope to visit again
This is an awesome place to stay. We had our own en-suite onsen and a waterfall. We loved the minimalist Japanese decor and enjoyed sleeping on the comfortable mattresses on the floor. A wonderful ryokan experience!
What a great ryokan! Excellent service, luxury traditional experience with unique matcha tea ceremony each day. All of the staff so friendly and really made the birthday holiday extra special. Evening meals and breakfasts were so big and luxurious with lots of courses in the traditional kaiseki form. They were very tasty and even accommodated my vegetarian request. They provided traditional outfits to wear too. Highly recommended all round, hope to be back again soon.
A traditional Japanese hotel which we booked as half board. Traditional Japanese clothes were supplied to wear for the dinner which was a great experience
