"I really wanted to like Lone Oak Lodge because we had such a great time in Monterey overall—but unfortunately, the stay here was disappointing. The biggest issue was the spa situation. "I like that the room had a refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is located in area that is very close to a lot of restaurants and shops. It was very easy to get to Monterey from the hotel. The only real is issue was the constant noise from the then walls. I would stay here again the next time I visit the area."

"Don't let the pics fool you this place is rough - I will say it was clean as emphasized by the overwhelming smell of harsh cleaning products in the room and the lobby. Pricing for this place is absurd for what you get - it was so bad I just ate the charge and went to a decent hotel. Lesson learned."

"This place was nice - not necessarily as in “fancy” but the staff was very nice, the rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the area felt safe. It feels like it is in the process of sprucing itself up right now. It’s modest, but decent. Relatively close to the wharf and Cannery row. "Toilet flooded. Lady wanted to be cheap and not call a plumber. I tried to unclog it may attempts, and I told her it still needed to look at a plumber. To solve problem. Never staying here again!!! It's a shame, even if is a nice location and place l, that experience sucked!"

"Centrally located in Monterey Bay, easy access to the bike/pedestrian trail which extends from the Wharf to Lover's Point. Rooms are large and nicely renovated. The room is quiet. Price is reasonable. Parking is easy. Nice place to stay."

"Room was relatively clean. Some mold around the tub. Room had coffee cups but no coffee maker. Had to ask for one from front desk. This was case for two rooms. One room did not have enough towels for two people. Front desk staff was excellent. Very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast did not look inviting. We ate elsewhere. If room faces Lighthouse St, there will be music from Lucy’s across the street for a couple hours. We enjoyed it. Walk to ocean was close and enjoyable."
