"The Villa is beautiful and had everything we could have wanted with stunning views and a great pool. There was plenty to do locally but we made use of our hire car too and visited lots of other areas. We are a family with four children aged 9-15 years and all thoroughly enjoyed our time in Eleftherna. The service provided by Etouri was excellent with really good recommendations of where to go. What made our holiday even more special was the wonderful owner Georgious - thank you for your hospitality!"

"We chose this villa because we wanted to experience the inland, more mountainous part of Crete. We did not anticipate how our host, Manolis and Mrs. Rumy would truly enhance our time spent at the Amari Villa. We have stayed at many VBRO properties in numerous European countries and the US; Manolis provided the most comprehensive briefing material of anywhere we have stayed!! He met us on arrival and helped us with our luggage; he then provided all the information we could have wanted and gave us recommendations based on our interests. The villa was very well equipped with both the basics (coffee, fruit, yogurt, eggs, honey, bread, etc...even a bottle of local red wine!). The views are amazing and the outdoor pool area is the perfect place to eat, relax, and and enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains and valley. Mrs. Rumy took our experience to the next level. As noted in the property description, she is available to prepare genuine Greek dishes, made with fresh local ingredients. The meals that Mrs. Rumy prepared were simply the best that we had in our entire time in Crete (in 2 different parts of the island). As well, she is such a lovely soul; it was a pleasure to get to know her. Thank you Manolis and Mrs. Rumy for making our stay such a wonderful experience!!"

"This was our second stay at Samitos though we have stayed at the sister villa Idi several times. Refurbished by the family whose parents and grandparents originally owned and lived there the layout and decor retains all the rustic charm but provides every possible modern comfort and convenience. The villa is spotless and is maintained by the housekeeper who lives on site. Mrs Rumy ( the housekeeper ) provides a personal cooking service if required and her dishes reflect all the local produce and are delicious. Amari itself is a very quiet village but amenities can be found a few miles away at Agia Fotini and many local merchants visit Amari offering fresh bread fish and other local products. Communication with the host Manolis is both regular and informative-he goes out of his way to provide information and advice regarding both the local area and further afield. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and thank Manolis and Rumi for their care and attention during our most recent stay."

"Our family of six adults and three children thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa. It was spacious and well laid out. The grounds were terraced, filled with large trees and plants, and a pool that is large and gorgeous. It was also completely fenced, gated and private. The family successfully updated the amenities without losing the charm and character of the era in which it was built. The location was remote, but since we had rented a vehicle, we had no problem getting where we wanted to go and back. I would highly recommend this villa to any group looking for an out of the ordinary place that is both large and comfortable."

"My husband and I, along with our adult children and their partners, rented both villas. Manolis, the owner, could not have been more helpful, arranging transfers, offering advice as to outings, restaurants etc and leaving us a wonderful supply of local produce on arrival. Whilst recently completely modernised, the villas have been in his family for four generations so old family photographs adorn the walls and his grandmother's embroidered cloths the tables adding a warm historical presence to the lovely architecture. The villas' position in the quiet and picturesque village of Amari allows for beautiful views and pleasant breezes with several different balconies for sun or shade as required, a small pool and BBQ area. Mrs Rumy is an unobtrusive and helpful care-taker plus an excellent cook. Three of the bedrooms have a mezzanine floor with additional beds which we didn't need but would be great for families with young children. Renting a car is a must as this is an out-of-the-way, unspoilt area. We highly recommend Amari Villas for a simple, relaxing holiday."
