"This is a special place in a beautiful setting. While we used it as a base to explore the area, we made also made sure to relax in our beautiful courtyard and on premises. Our highlight was a cooking course with the two chefs, who were delightful and taught us a lot about Cretan cooking. The restaurant consistently produced high quality offerings for breakfast and dinner. We loved our stay here!"

"Just got back from a fantastic stay at this villa. Hosts were very welcoming. Stayed for 10 nights in May . Family with two grown up children and their partners. In all honesty we couldn’t fault the villa at all. Fabulous gardens and pool. immaculately looked after. The two villas, yes two!, were spotless, with a really well equipped kitchen in the larger villa. Great outdoor kitchen/ bbq area. The fact that it is two villas was great, meaning we could all be together but still have our own space. The hosts were really helpful, giving us restaurant ideas locally, even sorting delivery when we had a bad weather one day. Can’t thank them enough for a fabulous stay, and would recommend to anyone who wants to visit this part of Crete. "

"Stayed for a week may 25 , with family, fantastic villa in a lovely quite area surrounded by olive trees , overlooking the countryside towards Rethymno. Villa is spotless clean , with everything that is needed , pool & outside area are fantastic with covered seating area with TV . Host Kiriaki is very helpful, nothing is to much trouble, thank you we had a lovely visit "

"This modern villa is spotlessly clean throughout with panoramic views in every direction. Even from inside the Villa the view through the windows changes each day like a living painting. It’s spectacular. The grounds are completely enclosed and child friendly with plenty of space for kids to play and adults to chill. The gardens are very well maintained and watered, if you’re from the UK think of a national trust garden with Mediterranean plants. It is also very well lit in the evenings with the BBQ dining area overlooking the top half of Crete (not exaggerating) being one of the gardens hi-lights.The Villa feels secluded in it’s own hillside setting but is at most a 7 minute drive back down to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. So on those sweltering afternoons where the heat of the coast is getting too much, in 10 minutes you can be in your own gorgeous pool with a mountain breeze. Perfect!Eleni deserves her own 5* review but I’m running out of space! A flawless host who is kind, caring, quick to respond to any messages and super friendly. Thank you Eleni! There are no downsides, the beds are comfy, the pool is sparkling, the garden is stunning, the water pressure is great, the wifi is fast, I could go on and on.Stop searching now and book this place, you wont regret it and you’ll never want to leave.Thank you so much! "Absolutely loved it. House is amazing, up in the hills away from the crowds. Giannis and his family couldn’t have done more! Mother made us a lunch when we arrived, dropped round with Easter Cookies for the kids and were on hand if we needed anything. Loved every minute! "

"The villa is comfortable and in a quiet location lots of birdsong and fragrant orange trees. We were there “out of season” (mid to end march) so some of the local stores and restaurants were just beginning to open. That meant cooler weather, and fewer places to visit, but also an absence of the summer crowds."

"We had a wonderful stay at Green Paradise. The location of the villa is perfect. Walking distance to tavernas and a small supermarket. The town of Margaritas is full of pottery shops (and many tourists!). The villa is bigger inside than it looks in the photos - not that we spent much time indoors, even at the start of October. The upstairs terrace has comfy furniture, stunning views over the mountains, and to the sea. The Roman stepped pool was cleaned every couple of days. The loungers were comfy and pool towels supplied. The outside garden is a lovely space, and the gazebo shelters the outdoor table and chairs. The BBQ area is well set up, though we only used it a couple of times as eating out was so cheap. There is parking for one car inside the gates to the property, under a lemon tree. The property was easy to find, and communications with Elias were good. Everyone in the village knows Elias! The jacuzzi bath in the massive downstairs bathroom was a luxury. The villa was cleaned 3 times during our 13 night stay and the bath and hand towels replaced each time. We managed to do plenty of sightseeing, whilst having the perfect space to return to and relax. There is a larger supermarket in Perama just up the road. The washing machine meant we brought no laundry home. The added bonus was the family of cats with two kittens who came to visit daily. Perfection!"

"My girlfriend and I stayed here with a couple friends for two weeks and can say that this villa is absolutely amazing for the price. It’s huge, with beautiful views of the mountains and sea during the day as well as the stars at night. The host Alexandros and his family were very accommodating, we arrived to a welcoming tour of the property and a gift basket. There is a wonderful aroma of flowers in the morning from the garden. The barbecue pit was also stocked with coal and fire starter which was nice. Overall I would recommend this place to any small group or families looking to stay in Crete. It’s located in a peaceful village in the mountains and is a short drive to the lively city of Rethymno. Being in the center of the island it’s also no more than about a two hour drive at most to many scenic or notable places to visit. Renting a car though is a must. "
