"This was 3 nights out of a 3 week trip and was both a highlight and a respite from the exhaustion of traveling. The drive from Heraklion was beautiful, though the hills and narrow roads can be nerve wracking at times. Well worth it to arrive at this peaceful and very family friendly community of international guests and local, welcoming hosts. The owners and staff love their home and culture and enjoy sharing it with others. Take advantage of all their activities to maximize your experience. The breakfast was included in our rate and was generous and varied. The dinners were delicious and the most affordable of our vacation. This is the one destination we wished we had scheduled more days to enjoy!"

"A beautiful property in the middle of a quiet village! After a delayed flight and late arrival they patiently guided us to Askoutsi. We did not expect to find it so spacious with everything you would need and so beautifully renovated. Even juices, sandwich supplies and fruits waiting for us. Valia was wonderful and accommodated any of our needs or questions. Her goodbye surprise of delicious mizithra sweet rolls was so thoughtful! We especially enjoyed meals and the quiet nights of stars and goat bells in the beautiful courtyard, and the hot tub. The only drawback for us was the super firm mattresses that were harder than we prefer, but adding a blanket underneath us helped. We enjoyed the nearby bakery, access to many wineries, Knossos and ancient ruins. Make sure to walk around the village to see the beauty and simplicity of life. We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely book more time here next visit! The drive south to Plakias has stunning scenery and is a perfect beach town with a meal by the water at Alianthos cafe. Free sun beds and umbrellas are adjacent to enjoy the beautiful beach and Libyan Sea. So much to see and a week was too short. This place is a gem! Thank you Valia, loved our stay!! "

"We arrived at 1am on Saturday morning due to flight delays but we were met and shown around the villa, it is a beautiful villa, very clean and well laid out, beautiful views and a loverly outside area It is a bit remote the area it is in so definitely need a carbut lots to do and see within a 15-20minute drive"

"The stay here was lovely, peaceful and quiet. You will need a car to get around as a little out of the way, but that is why we chose it. The owners were great, communicative and helpful. Make sure you like cats as there were a lot of cats and kittens. Pool and garden were amazing and we were sad to have left! Recommended!"
