"This is a special place in a beautiful setting. While we used it as a base to explore the area, we made also made sure to relax in our beautiful courtyard and on premises. Our highlight was a cooking course with the two chefs, who were delightful and taught us a lot about Cretan cooking. The restaurant consistently produced high quality offerings for breakfast and dinner. We loved our stay here!"

"This place is a piece of heaven and the pictures don't do justice. The hosts are incredibly nice and always checked and made sure we are happy and have everything. The house inside is beautiful ( traditional cretan) and clean with lots of space, confortable beds, very cool compared with other places we've stayed. Yes it has AC but we didn't have to use it after a hot day at the beach. Brilliant location for visiting lots of places, amazing view and privacy, good size swimming pool and a incredible wildlife around the house and the lake. We just spent evenings in the garden listening to the birds and other animals around. The house has its own cat( Skia) - which means Shadow which is so lovely and polite. Nikos it's the best host and such an incredible guy and for that reason we highly recommend this place. Thank you guys for having us, will miss you lots. "Fantastic welcome from Vaso including a lovely homecooked meal. The villa is lovely, we felt instantly at home. Well equipped, comfortable and clean. Loved relaxing in and by the pool.Do go and find the small kafenion behind the church up in Harkia, couldn't believe how welcome we were made to feel. To much to explore in a week, we will be back.Many thanks"

"Just got back from a fantastic stay at this villa. Hosts were very welcoming. Stayed for 10 nights in May . Family with two grown up children and their partners. In all honesty we couldn’t fault the villa at all. Fabulous gardens and pool. immaculately looked after. The two villas, yes two!, were spotless, with a really well equipped kitchen in the larger villa. Great outdoor kitchen/ bbq area. The fact that it is two villas was great, meaning we could all be together but still have our own space. The hosts were really helpful, giving us restaurant ideas locally, even sorting delivery when we had a bad weather one day. Can’t thank them enough for a fabulous stay, and would recommend to anyone who wants to visit this part of Crete. "

"This modern villa is spotlessly clean throughout with panoramic views in every direction. Even from inside the Villa the view through the windows changes each day like a living painting. It’s spectacular. The grounds are completely enclosed and child friendly with plenty of space for kids to play and adults to chill. The gardens are very well maintained and watered, if you’re from the UK think of a national trust garden with Mediterranean plants. It is also very well lit in the evenings with the BBQ dining area overlooking the top half of Crete (not exaggerating) being one of the gardens hi-lights.The Villa feels secluded in it’s own hillside setting but is at most a 7 minute drive back down to shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. So on those sweltering afternoons where the heat of the coast is getting too much, in 10 minutes you can be in your own gorgeous pool with a mountain breeze. Perfect!Eleni deserves her own 5* review but I’m running out of space! A flawless host who is kind, caring, quick to respond to any messages and super friendly. Thank you Eleni! There are no downsides, the beds are comfy, the pool is sparkling, the garden is stunning, the water pressure is great, the wifi is fast, I could go on and on.Stop searching now and book this place, you wont regret it and you’ll never want to leave.Thank you so much! "My girlfriend and I stayed here with a couple friends for two weeks and can say that this villa is absolutely amazing for the price. It’s huge, with beautiful views of the mountains and sea during the day as well as the stars at night. The host Alexandros and his family were very accommodating, we arrived to a welcoming tour of the property and a gift basket. There is a wonderful aroma of flowers in the morning from the garden. The barbecue pit was also stocked with coal and fire starter which was nice. Overall I would recommend this place to any small group or families looking to stay in Crete. It’s located in a peaceful village in the mountains and is a short drive to the lively city of Rethymno. Being in the center of the island it’s also no more than about a two hour drive at most to many scenic or notable places to visit. Renting a car though is a must. "
