"I have stayed in a lot of hotels including 5 star. The Menta City Hotel rates right at the top of my list. We stayed in the Junior Suite with Jacuzzi, the decoration was stylish, as it was throughout the hotel. We had amazing views of the sea from our balcony and I could not fault anything. Good choice of breakfast from the rooftop restaurant with stunning views. Staff were excellent, George on reception was very helpful and also made the best cocktail. Would I recommend this hotel? I certainly would and I look forward to my next visit."

"The reviews don’t lie, great property and friendly hospitable staff. Especially loved the peace and quiet and being able to relax with a glass of wine on the balcony while listening to the sound of the sea and enjoying its breeze. Small boutique hotel outside of the hustle and bustle of old town with a private beach. Great restaurants within walking distance Prima Plora and their own Thalassa Seafood restaurant. My room was comfortable, but the bedroom area was a little warm. I’m sure they would’ve adjusted the temperatures if I had asked. As a female traveling alone I felt safe. Will be back! "

"We had such a wonderful stay! Communication with both the owner and the villa manager, Lina, was brilliant from start to finish. Lina was amazing—she organised taxis, arranged a delicious meal at the villa, and gave us great tips on local restaurants and beaches. She was always so quick to reply and nothing was ever too much trouble.The villa itself had everything we needed and plenty of space for our big family group—13 adults, our nearly two-year-old granddaughter, and other family popping in to visit. The views from up on the hillside were stunning, looking out over the sea, harbour, and old town of Rethymno.The weather was a bit up and down while we were there, so a heated pool would have been a lovely bonus—but we know it’s usually perfect for cooling off in the sunshine! We were there to celebrate our son’s wedding, and it honestly couldn’t have been a better place for such a special family week."

"The room is very clean of good size and offers all one needs to relax, self-cook or wash anything, air conditioning if warm and even heating if cold (usually not), a terrace with view on the see. Maybe add instructions on how to use the TV, which I have not watched."

"We had an amazing two week stay in the Myrtia Villa accomodated by the most amazing host George who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the most of our time. The villa is exactly as pictured and described and had all the necessary amenities for a family visit. It is located on a private driveway with plenty of parking in the heart of the village.The village is small but has plenty of character and the old town of Rethimno and the beaches of Petres and Episkopi are a short car or bus journey. We opted for the heating in the pool and it ensured we could enjoy it throughout the stay no matter the weather. This is a gem of a property and host and we will be recommending to family and friends if they wish to visit Crete. "

"The property was spacious and had great facilities, two kitchens and the pool was really great. The playground area was perfect for the 4 young kiddies and we had a couple of BBQ's which were very enjoyable. Lina was a fantastic help and always available and ready to help, make bookings etc. A truly relaxed and enjoyable holiday is a truly ideal villa."

"The Villa was very clean and spacious (perfect with kids). Lots of windows and sunlight. Also, with a view of the Fortezza. Quiet surroundings with occasional sounds of farm animals and church music. The main big patio was the best part of the house. It overlooked the sea with the sunrise to the right and sunset to the left. A lovely jacuzzi was great to relax in on the patio while viewing the sea. The owner had cleaners come mid-trip which was very nice. The owner provided us with food and activity recommendations. He also gave us a quick tour/run down of the house which was appreciated as we were foreigners for the USA. There are some beach toys and umbrellas. There is a beach at the bottom of the hill which is quite rocky. There are a couple racks for drying clothes. The owner provided laundry detergent. He also had a few surprises cultural thank you gifts planned for us throughout our stay! Overall, very happy with our stay!"
