"What a great hotel. The staff were really friendly and the public areas and the rooms decorated to a very high standard. My wife used the spa and had a massage which she really enjoyed. "Good location. Room was small but perfectly adequate and with nice bathroom. Lake view was not great - large flat room in front of us. Nice gardens on the edge of the lake. The Waterhead Inn next door had a great team working there, more friendly. We ate there and that was very good. Easy to walk into Ambleside, no need to drive which is a huge bonus. Lovely countryside and walks."

"Location is great. Staff are very helpful, breakfast is excellent and lots of choice. We had a superior room at the Windermere Rooms. I expected a better view/facilities for the cost, rooms were very warm but could be easily fixed by turning the radiators down. Floor in the bedroom was slightly uneven which didn’t affect the stay but something I didn’t expect for the price of the room. I would definitely stay again but probably wouldn’t pay for a superior room."

"The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "

Hidden gem! Such an amazing place
"Stayed here for two nights with my friend while hiking in the area. Friendly and lovely place. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing, room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view over the garden and mountains beyond. Spent our evenings watching the red squirrels, birds, deer and badgers out of the bedroom window. Perfect place to use as a base or to spend time in the gardens. We had the addition of a packed lunch made for us which was lovely, the flapjacks are amazing by the way! Great location, friendly hosts, great service, parking, wifi, breakfast, comfy bed, clean bathroom and amazing views and wildlife. Will definitely be retunring next time we visit the area. 10/10!! Cant fault it in any way "
