"Nice for a short break by the river, staff friendly , rooms clean, comfortable & quiet, breakfast is good with plenty of choices, bar is fine for a drink after a day out, the hotel just looks a little run down. "

"We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast on the morning of departure. Anyone with mobility issues needs to be careful about which room they book, of those in the castle I think that there are a couple on the first floor, accessed by a fairly grand staircase. The rest require a climb up a narrow and steep spiral staircase. The room we stayed was up said spiral staircase and was spacious and clean, well furnished and with a large en-suite. The lady on reception provided a great welcome and helped during our stay, special mention also goes to the lady who gave us and other guests a castle tour. In terms of dining we found a limited menu and an incapacity to vary it in the slightest. Also the staff were less than attentive."
