"We were obsessed with this hotel. It was so pretty and eclectic inside, great art and decor in the rooms. Staff was so nice and the breakfast was to die for. We did a very impromptu whisky tasting and learned a lot- it was better than the whisky tour we did earlier in the week. We were sad to go and can’t wait to visit again! "

"The property itself was a lovely upstairs room, generous in size and very close to the rail station with a direct line to Edinburgh. We had a two night stay and found the bed to be very comfortable. A generous soak bath tub is in the main bedroom. Little snacks were a pleasant gift. Small issues were disappointing. On arrival there was no soap in the container and We were disappointed that despite asking for the room to be serviced, the soap was not replenished, toilet paper not replenished and the bin not emptied. The main lights in the room and overhead bedaide lights were not working. We had not previously experienced a "virtual check in" and as we had elected to pay at the property, did not appreciate we would not receive the entry codes until paymentis received. The problem was, there is no one on site to pay!. This meant a one hour delay waiting outside the property while we tracked down the duty manager via messaging and phone calls to arrange over the phone payment. These negatives however should not outweigh what is a nice property. With attention to detail this would have had a higher rating. "
"Great hotel food & service spot on, mattress on bed could with updating, tele connection was poor, still enjoyed our stay would come back ,but would like a different bed.😄"
"There was no air conditioning or fan, which was unfortunate as we were there during a heat wave. Everything else was great; clean beds, friendly staff, quiet, safe area. "
"Lovely hotel, with great character. Staff were all incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food at dinner and breakfast was great. Comfortable beds and great amenities. Would stay again."
