ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile

ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile

8/10 Good
"We booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced, central and dog friendly. It was £10 extra for dog, although they have recently increased to £15. Staff were great - doted on the dog, gave him treats, dropped off a bed and dog bowl on our room. Room was simple and clean - kettle and hairdryer included. There was an ironing room down the hall. We never visited the bar and restaurant bit the pictures looked nice! Would recommend if looking for somewhere mid range in the city centre."

"Really wonderful location and the staff were great. The room was super comfortable and the bed and pillow and shower were all great. However the room was smaller than expected and a bit dark and dingy. However it had everything we needed and as it was so comfy highly likely to stay again .."

"A perfect location! Located just on the corner of the Royal Mike right by St.Giles Cathedral (a great landmark when you’re not sure where you’re at). Walkable to everything including Grassmarket, New Town, St.James shopping quarter & more. Hotel staff is superb! Rooms are very nice, totally updated, air conditioned too! A big bonus, free washer & dryer for guests, soap included!! Bathrooms are quite nice, tub & shower, big fluffy towels. This is my 3rd time staying at Fraser Suites. I’ll never stay anywhere else in Edinburgh! Be sure to make a reservation to eat at Vittoria’s on the South Bridge, just a short walk, and food & drinks are fantastic!! You won’t be disappointed!"

Motel One Edinburgh-Royal

Motel One Edinburgh-Royal

8/10 Good
"Location is terrific, easy walk to many places in Edinburgh. Whether you enter hotel from the corner or the side you are hit with stairs - early 70's and this would be a deterrent from booking again. We tried for early check in (both by written request the prior week and at 9:30 am the morning of check in) and did not get in until the 3 pm check in time despite sitting in lobby for 2 hours and watching 30-40 people check in early. Additionally, we paid an upcharge for a "view" - we could see some patches of green through small openings in trees, and then we could see a building full of scaffolding through the treetops, across the railyard. Guess I needed a definition of what constitutes a "view". Left our stay feeling ripped off."

"Good for the price, although during the Festival it is considerably more expensive than when I tried it out for 1 night about 4 months ago. My only niggle is, could have more room in the shower, or a sliding door so one part of the area can stay dry. You will get your clothes wet from the floor when getting dressed"
