"Room was outdated, chipping paint, lifting wallpaper, dusty vents. Chargers on lamps didn't work well. Couch was not appealing looking to want to sit on. Lobby at one point at a class group that was so large that it was impossible to get on the elevator to get back to our room for a second, it would have taken much longer to wait and wasn't worth it. Felt like I shouldn't have to wait on line for 30 minutes just to get back to my room. "

"The Westgate is my “go to” hotel in New York, particularly when I am participating in an event at the United Nations as it is just a very brief walk back and forth each day… the staff always greet me with a “welcome back” and always go out of their way to be accommodating… I like the casement style widows that actually open and let in the air and New York ambience… I prefer older-style hotels that are kept in excellent condition with painted wood trim like the Westgate… The Westgate is very clean and the beds are very comfortable… a lot of the best of New York is within walking distance… look forward to being back soon!"
