"What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot."
"The staff was friendly and very helpful. It is isolated, so we ate every meal at the hotel -food was okay, not great. Hotel is very charming and area is picturesque. Great hiking and historic sites nearby. We loved our visit!"
"Very clean good reception on arrival wonderful breakfast evening meals were also very good and plenty of choice comfortuble beds all in all I would recommend this place good value for money"
"Liz and Glenn operate an amazing property, they are extremely helpful and accommodating hosts, their breakfasts are outstanding, our room was very clean and comfortable. Herriots is superbly located in the town of Hawes, which itself has plenty of food and beverage outlets as well as being well positioned to access all that the Dales has to offer."
"It is a lovely unique building of great history . Unfortunately on a Thursday night they had various things not available on the menu including the Cheeseboard and no Merlot wine and no port left.
The staff were not very friendly . They did their job is about it. Where we had breakfast was a fly paper which had been there maybe years with dead flies stuck to it
. The general cleanliness was not great I stress this is a stone floored 16 c property and general cleanliness in the pub...
"The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it."
"Have stayed here twice before though not in recent years. Small hotel in the centre of Hawes, ideally situated, cosy and welcoming, comfortable beds, nice views and reasonably priced. However, it is starting to look tired. First impressions count and I noticed all the paint was coming off the front door. In our bedroom, the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and the trim under the shower screen (bath/shower) was green and broken - consequently the shower leaked all over the floor and...
