"Great central location; ideal for touring. The staff were friendly and overall good value for money. However the bedrooms were tired and needed an uplift. Our biggest criticism were that bedroom windows could not be opened (locked and painted shut). On what was the hottest days of the year so far there was little or no ventilation."

"The room we booked was spectacular and they accommodated our request to have the single beds pushed together. The surrounding area is beautiful as is the property itself! Our room was separated in a different area from the inn which I felt gave us more privacy - and a fantastic view of the rolling hills! The room was clean, larger than expected and had an abundance of items to use ie: kettle with plenty of hot drink items, bottled water, a fridge, a large smart TV, ironing board and iron, wardrobe, hairdryer and several towels - all bases are covered! The staff were very helpful whilst we stayed and also were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was a real treat too - quality ingredients, juice and hot drink options and even cereal options too. The ONLY snag? The parking at the back of the property gets taken up VERY quickly so it’s important to stay mindful of this! Not a fault of the property, but other people aren’t considerate when parking so several spaces are often wasted to people taking far too much room - aim to arrive earlier to get a spot! Would absolutely love to visit again and hopefully in the future we will be back. "

"The room, although small, was beautifully clean. Tea coffee etc was topped up every day. The little fridge had fresh milk every day. Roxana was an amazing host who welcomed you with friendliness and good advice. Breakfast was simple but well cooked and cooked just for you. There was a lovely little garden overlooking the river which enabled you to enjoy the calmness of nature. There was a comfortable lounge/ dining room to enjoy during the day should you need a rest from the walks!!! There were nice walks from the hotel, which was in a pretty little village.Next to the property was a lovely tea room offering home cooked foods, and across the green a village pub. "

"It was really good. The couple running it were really nice and helpful. Room a bit basic but.nice comfy bed and lovely cotton sheets and towels. They have only been there 6 weeks so early days yet. I think they have plans and have taken on a big project. Good luck to them both."

"A delightful little cottage for a break. Clean, comfortable (especially the beds and bedding) and cozy - the log-burner was appreciated. Great views across the fields. Close to all Wensleydale activities and shops."

Gardenwell Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

"Our stay was ok, however the central heating switched off every 15 minutes and tripped the consumer unit, i had to reset it many times to keep warm in such a lovely cottage, this spoilt it for us unfortunately. If the heating had stayed on we would rate this cottage very highly. We contacted the customer service office many times over the week but the problem was not resolved and nobody seemed to understand the issue, they just came in and reset the central heating switch in the consumer unit but did not solve the problem"
