"The room was okay, though not particularly clean. The staff were friendly, but because the property is so large, they couldn’t always respond promptly. It’s a decent place to stay as long as you don’t have exceptionally high expectations."

"Amazing staff at reception specially Claire, Gabe and a few others who've been very helpful, accomodating, and always aimed to please guests. Beautiful lobby with several sections set up with comfy lounges, and tables and chairs. "

"I chose to stay at the Fairmont for sentimental and historical reasons, knowing full well the property may be worn and tired. We paid in full for our package at the time of booking through Expedia. We arrived mid morning of our check-in date and were told our room would be ready in a couple hours. At 4:00 pm we were handed waters and told to be patient along with several other travelers while staff worked to accommodate all of us. One manager told us they would need to move us to another hotel (of lesser value) for one night due to maintenance issues with several of the rooms because it was unsafe for us to stay. In actuality...another staff member told us and several others, the hotel was overbooked for a large tech convention. Several hours later and after some reasonable negotiation for a stay at a more comparable hotel, we were able to begin our vacation but subsequetially needed to move back to the Fairmont on their terms. What was concerning was the misinformation if not outright lie fed to us along with the disruption that ruined a full day of our vacation and inconvenienced us again in the middle of activities to relocate. At the end of the day, while a 120.00 breakfast voucher and corner room were nice...they were not compensation enough for me to recommend taking a chance on staying there on a future visit."

"Listing said breakfast included however they only offered muffins and coffee. They said they did not have eggs and yogurt during our stay. "

"Repeat guest for fun in San Francisco. Love being in this neighborhood!! Chinatown and North Beach offer the best food, in walking distance to the Ferry Building and Fishermans Warf. Free parking!!!!! Older property, but clean. Balcony rooms more spacious and worth the small increase in price. Lots of street/city noise at night so bring ear plugs if you're sensitive. We just turn on the oscillating fan provided in the room to drown out the noise. Love this place!!! "
