"This hotel listing is incorrect we booked a hotel we thought was in Whitby but this property has been closed for at least the last few months and apparently this hotel is actually in hawes 80miles from Whitby despite all info showing it is in Whitby so we turned up in whitby , no hotel and nowhere else to stay at an affordable price in the Easter holidays so had to go home Do not book this hotel until the issues sorted - check trip advisor we are not the only ones who have been affected "

"We had a very relaxing stay in the beautiful village of Hawes. Steppe Haugh is certainly quirky, but that only adds to its charm. It is also spacious, comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean. We loved it here and would recommend it highly. The hosts have thought of everything and there is great attention to detail. "Our stay was ok, however the central heating switched off every 15 minutes and tripped the consumer unit, i had to reset it many times to keep warm in such a lovely cottage, this spoilt it for us unfortunately. If the heating had stayed on we would rate this cottage very highly.
