"If for some odd reason you find yourself in Pistoia, I can heartily recommend the Locanda San Marco. The staff is absolutely wonderful - they genuinely seem to care about their guests. And even if you don't have a need for two bedrooms, go ahead and splurge on the Baroni Suite. You'll be glad you did. I believe the Locanda is an old palazzo and is certainly built castle solid.
