"We spent two weeks at this villa with a group of eight, and it exceeded every expectation. The house is even more beautiful than the photos suggest: spacious and elegant, with six generous bedrooms and bathrooms, a gorgeous heated pool and jacuzzi, and that wonderful light-filled veranda dining room with its long table and sweeping views over the Tuscan hills. Every evening we watched the sun set from the terrace under the pergola lights — and it never once got old.But what truly made the stay was the host. From the very first message to the last day, nothing was ever too much trouble. Golf tee times, a private tour of a wine estate, restaurant tips, transfers — all arranged effortlessly and with genuine warmth. The host even organised a magical party for us on the terrace: a four-piece band, a pizzaiolo baking fresh pizzas on the spot, local wine and limoncello flowing, and beautiful cakes. It was handled with a care and an eye for detail that you very rarely find, and it turned an ordinary evening into one we will talk about for years.A special word for the chef, who cooked for us on our final evening. It was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Crostini to start, then pappa al pomodoro, homemade tagliatelle with a slow-cooked ragù, peposo of veal braised in Chianti with roasted potatoes, and a semifreddo to finish — all served at our own table under the pergola as sun dipped behind the hills. Authentic, generous and absolutely delicious, prepared with real passion."

"Spa is very tired, there’s a spa pool with various sections that once did something but most of it is not working now, and there are loose tiles and broken switches. Access was included in our room rate but I wouldn’t pay extra if it wasn’t. Staff, including spa as well as reception, pool bar and restaurant are all super helpful and knowledgeable and we love the location, close to Terme Tettuccio as well as the town but far enough away to be peaceful. Hotel is clean, tidy and smells lovely"

"We had the most beautiful Tuscan Villa experience! The host was so wonderful, he showed us to our apartment and gave us some basic helpful information. You knew you had help from staff if needed but they definitely gave you space to enjoy your own time. We have shared this place with many people in Australia and they can’t wait to visit themselves! Thank you!"

"We wish we could give 10 stars! This was one of the most amazing hotel experiences we have ever had across multiple trips to Europe. Not sure how we fell into this boutique gem but glad we did. Clean, well maintained, beautifully appointed, everything is modern and works as expected! The location is ideal to explore Pistoia. The train is a very easy 12 minute walk. There is a breakfast available for 12 euro. Well worth it! My wife is a 4 shots of espresso girl over ice. They didn’t flinch and didn’t disappoint. Can’t say enough about the staff. From Llario to Leonardo and especially Matteo they answered every question with careful thought. We felt like family was taking care of us. Before we arrived they arranged a driver for us to get to our next destination. Not easy when you are traveling in a group of 7 with too many suitcases! If you are thinking of Pistoia then look no further than Palazzo 42."
