"This resort was overall pretty good, a little dated and lots of stairs for rooms on upper floors as there was no elevators. Being close to the beach and having lots of options for kids made it a great place to spend a week. We enjoyed our stay."

"Overall enjoyed my stay at the occidental! Had some amazing staff members like Julio L & Milton G, they went above and beyond, always friendly! Most of the staff are friendly but they really stood out to us! There were always lots of outdoor entertainment going on, drinks & food were good! We especially loved the Tokyo restaurant and HIGHLY recommend booking a reservation for hibachi there as well as it was DELICIOUS and so fun! "It’s been our 7th visit. First time we felt that we’ve been somewhat economized on.Omagio restaurant turned into buffet for breakfast vs menu. For three nights we were torched with Mexican food while other choices were limited. Guys on beach always super helpful super service there. We’ll come again for sure just having a perspective of 6th past trips certain things discerned above were unexpected."
