"Cons. Sketchy looking outside Towels are thin and cheap No much water pressure in shower or sink Pros. Looks sketchy outside but I promise it’s not. We felt very safe. Front desk guy was great. They have cameras all over for safety. Beds were comfy. There isn’t a heavy comforter but we didn’t get chilly at all. Room was very clean. We are very picky about where we stay. We usually stay in high class hotels. With that said I would come back here. It was right across the street from the pier....

"First time staying at The Colonies and we will definitely stay again next time we’re in Williamsburg. The property is nicely located near the outlets, supermarkets, and restaurants. The pools are great, just the right size to keep an eye on the little ones. And the rooms are spacious and clean, albeit dated. "My husband and I spent a few nights here for our 10 year anniversary. The resort was great. We enjoyed being able to walk to everything we needed, the dining options, and the pool behind the spa. The river pool was a bit too crowded with children for us so we stayed away from that. The Mill was a great place for breakfast and lunch, and we enjoyed dinner at The James River Grille twice. "The owners are super nice. They also have the cutest dog and the place is super clean and very easily walkable to the bay and to Dairy Queen. The courtyard is super cute and very quiet!"
