"Loved staying at this private castle, even if it was the original maids quarters! Spacious room with french doors opening onto the lawn garden and creek below. Bathroom was fine and water on a timer but always hot. It is outside of St Andrews but worth it for the experience and peaceful ambience. Continental breakfast was in our mini fridge and replenished daily so we could eat at our leisure. No microwave which would have been an advantage for quick evening meals. "The flat was perfect with new appliances and fittings. It was spacious, light and clean. The staff on duty during check in were helpful, efficient and friendly. As people in their mid sixties who need reading glasses, my husband and I struggled to open all the doors with the code provided. Standing outside in the dark trying to punch in the code was a hassle every time. While doing this we met two other couples our age having trouble doing the same thing. I find a key card much easier. "Well positioned hotel and good sized apartment which we would use again. Our only criticism related to the quality of the instructions for using the equipment - we never got the hob to work properly, there were no instructions for the dishwasher and there was insufficient"

"Having never travelled overseas before, this place was a warm welcome. With friendly staff, clean accommodations and easy to find it made it a nice place to lay our heads for the first night after a long day of travel. Regan was absolutely amazing and the best barista!!! The day before our last night accommodations were made so we could stay one more night!!! She and the rest of the staff made our stay so pleasant we will definitely be back. "

"I have only good things to say about this hotel. Check in was easy. The airport shuttle bus dropped us off right across the street from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but we didn't spend much time there except for sleeping and showering. Tourist attractions are all within walking distance. There was even a farmer's market minutes away. Would recommend. "

"The Leonardo is located right between old and new Edinburgh. It was very convenient to walk up to the Royal mile and tour old town. We could also go out the front and walk straight into Newtown. There was also a taxi stand immediately in front of the hotel, which was convenient. The breakfast was an additional 15 pounds per day, but it was definitely worth it. It was a large buffet with excellent selections. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were amazing. The rooms were spacious. It was larger than a lot of hotels that I’ve stayed in in Europe. The bathroom was a little tight, but the shower was big enough for me to lift my arms which is not always the case in Europe."
