"It was disgusting. There was mold in the carpet, dirt and dust and crass in every room corner, a smell of rot everywhere, humidity in the air... without mentioning the little surprises like the used q-tips on the fireplace, the yellowish bathrobe hanged on a rusty nail in the bathroom, the single sock in our bedding... I haven't received a single message of the owner. I asked for a refund. It wasn't sanitary."

"This is an amazing place to stay. Has everything you need after a day of exploring town and of course golf. Within walking distance to downtown St. Andrew’s. It was great for 4 guys on a golf trip- everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. Marvyn the host was incredible. Great communications prior to arrival and during our stay. Went out of his way to help us. Will be staying here again. "

"This is an ideal location when staying in Edinburgh with many amenities within an easy walk and several very good restaurants within a block or two. The hotel restaurant and separate bar are also very pleasing to be in and with excellent food and drink (flights of Scotch!!!). But above all, the staff, whether front desk, bar, restaurant -- across the board -- were unbelievably helpful and very, very nice. They made us feel that Scots may be the friendliest people on the planet!"
