"Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve and Lodge is an amazing place to stay. They have extremely knowledgeable birding and wildlife guides and the people who work there are super nice. The food is great, although the options are limited. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Ours looked out into the cloud forest. Don't expect a luxury experience. "Excellent stay. This is a family run hotel so very unofficial and welcoming making solo impromptu travel much easier when any reservation changes occur. As a solo traveler I felt extremely safe staying there and felt more like home than a hotel. Blue door is very close to voto nacional and other great sites, but it does sit very high on a hill which makes exploring on foot a little tougher.
