It is close to the Kennet and Avon canal, Sydney Gardens and it’s a pleasant walk into city along Great Pulteney Street and over Pulteney Bridge. Unlike most city centre hotels it does have a car park. "

"All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. The spa area was very convenient and well maintained. We ate in the Pantry several times and the food was delicious. A variety of cocktails and mocktails were also on offer. The garden area is beautiful and has lots of available lawn games. Overall, the hotel provides a wonderfully relaxing experience."

" My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for one night and was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, especially Daniel. The food was delicious, and the grounds were beautifully maintained. The swimming pool and spa was a bonus. I wish we had booked for more nights. We will definitely be coming back for sure!"

"This was a beautiful pub and excellent friendly staff . Only thing we found was walls were very thin so could hear tv and talking next door . We had a meal at lunch fish & chips very nice . But cooked breakfast disappointing as everything was under cooked and poached eggs still raw .But there was a good choice of fresh bread , pastries to help yourself too . "

"A Hidden Gem of a Hotel. Staff Are All very Friendly and made us Feel very Welcome. Food is First Class. Grounds are very well Manicured. Excellent base for Visiting Bristol, but you will need a Car as Hotel is off the Beaten track."

"It is a beautiful luxurious hotel with a superb spa. Rooms were nice and bedding very comfortable. Grey's restaurant food is average and very limited choice and overhyped but breakfast was excellent. The biggest surprise on checking out was that they charged 10% service charge on the whole bill including the room charge that was prepaid on Hotels.com. There was no warning and left a bitter taste. The only downside (and it was quite a downside) is that our room was above the kitchen and the door was on an automatic closer which meant it slammed every time it shut. And this started at about 7.00 in the morning...."
