"Beautiful inn, very friendly staff & locals, comfortable room with lots of lovely little touches. Food great too. Stayed 2 nights to visit Longleat, would highly recommend & stay again if ever in the area."
"We really enjoyed our stay here and have nothing but praise for the accommodation and the wonderful team. Fantastic breakfast and a great location for lovely walks or just staying in the local vicinity. Thanks for making this such a nice break. "
"The breakfast was included which was a nice touch and the food was very high quality and fresh. Staff were friendly as was the manager and you get a complimentary cookie from the kitchen on arrival in your room. Very cosy comfortable and spacious rooms in a loverly area. Felt extremely comfortable during my stay"
"Nicely furnished room, comfortable bed and excellent shower. All staff friendly and accommodating. Wide range of dining options for dinner, breakfast a great spread available and recommend the breakfast bap. Tiny minus point, my wife’s eggs Benedict had overdone eggs. Would definitely revisit. "
"Pleasant location and friendly host. We had the continental breakfast which was very enjoyable. The host ( I don't know her name!), was lovely and helpful. "

"Had a fabulous time here . Really enjoyed the spa and pool. Lovely hotel with some fun quirky decor & friendly staff.
Breakfast was lovely and Dinner was delicious although on the pricey side!
Would definitely recommend & return."
"We wanted a pet friendly hotel and boy, did we get it. Every member of staff treated our little pup like royalty. In the room there was a comfortable bed for her with a towel and 2 blankets along with some bowls but the piece de resistance was a the little bag containing poop bags, treats and a ball. We had a very satisfied little dog in the room but when she saw the outside greenery she was absolutely thrilled as were we. Unlike a lot of hotels where they claim to be dog friendly but then have a load of no go areas, this hotel really was.
We arrived before booking in time so had the flat iron steak and frites for lunch followed by the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banana waffle. All was beautifully cooked and the waitress was extremely careful to ensure that the way I was asking for my steak to be cooked as she was worried it would be compromised.
We found the room to be comfortable and loved the Dyson fan. There was plenty of tea, coffee, fresh milk(!) and a little fridge.
We had the breakfast in the morning. 10 out of 10 for the fresh fruit, a decent range of cereals and various other items on the Continental range. My husband had the Classic English Breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed with its 2 sausage, 2 bacon, beans, tomato, poached egg, black pudding and toast whilst I had a very generous portion of smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. If there was any criticism, it would be the toast was thin and dry. Everything else was great.

The Old Parlour - timber clad cosy converted cow shed
10/10 Excellent
"What a wonderful place! On reading the last review that was posted not long before we were about to stay at the Old Milking Parlour, I was a tad apprehensive as to what we might find but there was absolutely no need to be .This is a lovely property that is exactly as described. The photos are a true representation and it was an absolute delight to stay here. The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating the Milking Parlour with lovely high quality and tasteful fixtures and fittings. Please, please, please if you are thinking of staying here, ignore the review dated 30th June 2025. I felt devastated on behalf of the owners as it bore no relation to the premises whatsoever. There was a vase of flowers on the table along with half a dozen lovely fresh farm eggs. There was a lovely cosy, welcoming vibe and it was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white and the towels fluffy and plentiful. The beds were lovey and firm and both the showers were really good. The access instructions were clear and easy to follow. The farm itself was spotless and despite us expecting there to be the usual countryside smells, there weren't any at all. It's in a great location just a couple of miles outside Frome. I wholeheartedly recommend The Old Milking Parlour and would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved it."
"Great stay. All the amenities you could wish for. Very clean, loads of toys for small children and a lovely garden. Barbecue area and play area also great. Parking was easy too with a large parking space that had room to get out two children with car seats. Extra parking available at the bottom of the road. "
"Lovely stay in Warminster while we completed on our house purchase. Lovely clean house with a very good layout and good connections into Warminster. "
