A really lovely stay. I felt very welcomed and had a very comfortable room and good breakfast. Helped me find somewhere nice for dinner and generally took very good care of me. Thanks!
Lovely family home with a charming hostess.
Gail was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended to us several incredibly beautiful places not in the guidebooks.
Lovely English breakfast.
Was made to feel welcome anc at home from the moment i entered the door,, its very Nice place , great location, directll opposite a pub, i would of liked to explore the area more but alas bi was only there one night on business. I look forward to going back
Such a beautiful house in a really pretty village. So much space and having the use of a lounge meant that you didn’t need to stay in your room.
It was a very hot day 30 and the room had been prepared by having closed curtains and ice cold water waiting in the fridge.
The breakfast choice was incredible and service just perfect. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
Great 2 nights stay at this beautiful B&B. We instantly felt relaxed and welcome around our friendly hosts and their two sweet little (quiet!) dogs. The single beds in the lovely twin room were very comfortable. Gail catered for our veggie/vegan dietary needs with generous, tasty breakfasts that set us up for the recommended gorgeous walks from her doorstep. Thank you for looking after us so well!
The welcome and acomodation was excellent. I had thee chance to have kipper for breakfast, again very good.
The stair up to the room were steep, and because I us my hands, I came down backwards as is usual in the these matters for me.
The pub across the road the George provided excellent food and good beer. If you are a student of these matters it is entrtaining watching the chaos in the inn taking your order through to payment.
Really nice change of pace for us and the hosting was really personable and friendly. It makes a change to meet people that actually start a conversation with you and make you feel welcomed and appreciated.
We booked this accommodation for an overnight stay. We were very impressed. The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable.
The room had everything we could have needed and the information provided about places to eat and local places of interest was also helpful.
This is a venue that we hope to return to- and I would strongly recommend.
A very comfortable stay in a location close to many great sites: Stonehenge, Stourhead, and so many others.
Lots of personal recommendations.
Lovely breakfast. Quaint little village.
I will stay here again!
Gail was very welcoming; the room was warm and comfy; the small en-suite was fine; breakfast was really good, with home made compote and jams. The lounge was a little cool, but the selection of books was great. Stourhead Estate 5 minutes drive away and well worth a visit, especially for autumn colour.
A warm welcome from Gail. Everything we could possibly need had been thought of.
The room was comfortable and well equipped.
The breakfast was delicious. The cooked breakfasts were freshly cooked and tasty. We could not find any fault with this b&b
Second time at this lovely very comfortable B&B in the middle of Mere. Well appointed rooms, super comfy beds with high quality sheets, and the bonus of a lovely large sitting room if you want to relax in the evening

Lovely large room, good breakfast and comfy bed. Convenient to A303. Gail was extremely helpful and accommodating.
We had a three night stay at the Castleton and had a great time.
Gail was very welcoming and the breakfast was superb. We had the double room which is a really good size with an on suite shower room.
Mere has several good pubs and places to eat with a very good indian restaurant just a few minutes walk and a pub just across the street.
It was a great base for trips to Longleat, Bath and Cheddar Gauge and we would love to stay again.
