"Jonny, the host was friendly, courteous and very helpful. Cannot be faulted. Room and en suite basic, but bed clean and comfortable. Plenty of storage drawers, small table and chairs a nice touch. Shower room small but clean, with good shower pressure. Although above a pub, the rooms are unexpectedly quiet. Budget-friendly - if you want all the “bells & whistles”, then you’d have to pay much more for a room. Well worth the money."

"A very spacious room with a patio door overlooking a garden with a pond. All sorts of luxuious features you will not find in economocial hotels, like bath robe, slippers, coffee machine, fridge and plenty of drawers, plenty of cups : 2 for coffee, 2 for tea, 2 for cold drinks. the pool and jacuzzi looks good but i have not got time to use it."

"Interesting old pub with good real ale. Evening dinner was very good but I found the full English breakfast a little disappointing. Bacon should be back and not two small rashers of streaky. The sausage was tough to break in to. The rest was okay. The room was spacious and had all the facilities. Would recommend for an overnight stay although you will need satnav to find it."

The staff were very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist us, showing great flexibility throughout our stay. The rooms were exceptional, truly beyond words. I have travelled extensively and stayed in many places and this is one of the best places we have stayed."

"Super stay- really friendly staff and comfortable bed. Good food. Two things however slightly let it down - no lift for those with walking problems to get to the second floor - stairs only-and once in the room the shower was above the bath so again anyone with knee or disability would find it difficult to gain access to utilise. ( There may be other arrangements on the ground floor- didn’t ask for disability option) as I assumed that -as most hotels- it would have general lift and shower access to/ in every room."
