"Lovely hotel, the communal areas are well maintained and have been refurbished as have the spa and pool area. Outdoor pool was lovely in the hot weather but could have been cleaned more regularly. Maybe also have a few newer sun loungers. The rooms were dated, paint peeling but were clean enough. Service in restaurant was good, and breakfast had a good selection. Check out and check in was a little slow and had to wait for iron and ironing board for two hours and only received after asking...

"We have stayed at the Copthorne hotel before, whilst visiting family in Plymouth. However, unlike previous visits, there seemed to be a general lack of interest in the customer. This was most apparent at breakfast service where, on more than one occasion, food items had run out and staff had to be asked more than once to replace them.
The hotel has no air conditioning and ,therefore, it is important not to take a room on the fourth floor - the hottest as we were told by a member of reception...
