The staff were all pleasant and helpful but thin on the ground and overstreched. To have to wait 15 to check in on a Friday evening because there is only one receptionist is a very poor first impression. The general ambience was of a rather tired and inadequately serviced hotel which was not good for the price. Rooms were fine and the breakfasts were exceptionally good

We stayed at the Imperial for one night and had a fantastic experience. There is so much interesting history in the hotel, we loved seeing all the antique furniture and old architectural style. The entire hotel was very clean, there was lovely views out over the sea from the bar and breakfast area. We would definitely stay again.
