Top New York Transit Museum Hotel Reviews

Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown

Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown

10/10 Excellent
"The elevators are not well maintained--they are dirty and not up to the standard of a 3 star hotel. BIG PROBLEM- the room safe was consistently broken and required several trips by Joe the house engineer to fix. (He was great albeit way overworked.) BIGGEST PROBLEMS--1. The a/c was out of control---blowing way too much cold air on the bed. Fortunately, Joe found a workaround (a plastic sheet) which solved the problem 2. Street sound insulation was horrible--constant sirens and fire truck horns until 1 am---the hotel is close to a fire station, a police station and a hospital, so obviously there are lots of sirens BUT a good hotel would find a way to muffle the sounds."

The Lodge Red Hook

The Lodge Red Hook

10/10 Excellent
"This is a clean, no frills place located in a safe neighborhood with its own parking lot. At $25 a night, parking is a bit steep considering there is street parking nearby. But you're paying for safety. It is conveniently located close to the ferry and Van Brunt street, as well as being close to Caroll Gardens. The breakfast was not worth it for 10/day. It was a bagel with cream cheese or a turkey sandwich. We opted to walk and find breakfast ourselves. We would certainly stay here again!"

New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge

New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge

8/10 Good
"The Marriott Brooklyn Bridge has some positives, but guests should be aware of the added costs. The hotel charges a $30 daily destination fee, yet only offers a $15 dining credit that must be used each day or it's lost. That benefit doesn't come close to matching the fee, and it feels more like an added charge than a perk. There is no complementary breakfast here and I forfeit my dining credit because I wasn’t aware. This can be explained when checking in but it was rushed due to a long line and one attendant. Parking costs $60 per night, though guests do receive in-and-out access. Be sure to tell the parking attendants you're staying at the hotel so they can attach parking privileges to your room key. The standout aspect of this hotel is the housekeeping staff. They did an excellent job every day of our stay and deserve recognition for their outstanding service."
