"I traveled solo. Stayed at the Oakie the entire time I was in Kyoto. Love the location. Friendly helpful staff. Quiet rooms. I only criticism was the breakfast. Very standard. You’re not really meeting a Japanese high standard. I’m sure it’s fine for most. I was just spoiled with all the other fabulous restaurants and places to eat in the area."

Hotel Granvia Kyoto

Hotel Granvia Kyoto

10/10 Excellent
"Hotel Granvia Kyoto is a very nice, clean, and exceptionally well-positioned hotel. The location is excellent, with plenty of food, entertainment, and shopping nearby. The amenities felt somewhat lacking from a Western perspective. Having to pay an additional fee to use the gym, for example, seems unusual compared with typical U.S. hotel standards. The biggest disappointment was the condition of the corridors, which were not particularly clean and had a noticeable cigarette smell. That detracted from an otherwise very pleasant stay. Admittedly, some of these impressions may reflect differences between Japanese and U.S. hotel standards. Staff was excellent and very accomodating"
