"This resort checked all the boxes - beautiful ocean view and huge rooms stocked with amenities. Made my vacation (a 50th birthday trip with 7 friends from multiple locations) amazing. The food was resort food (fine, not exceptional except for the Mexican restaurant, where we went for food) but that's normal (having stayed at 5 resorts in the Caribbean, this is totally the way it is), and you get a lot of value for the money. "

"Stayed March 1-11, 2026 The beach was terrible with sargassum never seen before. I realize this is a natural phenomenon but no effort was made to reduce it. The Sargassum started to rot making a smell so bad it permeated most of the resort. Bathrooms needed upgrading. Staff amazing. Pool areas wonderful. If you are a “beach” person stay away…..if you are a pool person it’s good. "

"The spa pool in the room is cold, unfortunely we did not enjoy the pool at all during the stay because it wasnt warm water, although we did use the hot jacouzi out side, but since we paid for the room in the pool and didnt use it at all it was a little upsetting and it was also dirty. Another thing i wish it was an all inclusive for the price we paid almost $2,000 for our stay and no food included. That was a bummer. Other than that i will say it a very nice hotel. "Rooms were clean but dated, drinks were watered down, food choices were limited and quality was quite poor. A la carte's were fully booked and could not secure a reservation. Front desk staff were no help. No direct access to the beach only by shuttle and the quality of the beach was bad. Short shoreline, sea weed everywhere with little to no maintenance, waves were rough in this area."

"Pool was nice a little cool but you got used to it. We’re more beach people so we spent most of our time there. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Claudia,Isabelle, Yeplady (?) and Eduardo??, (not sure of the last two’s names sorry) went above and beyond! Rooms were well cleaned daily. Food was great!"

"I stayed at Copal Tulum Hotel for four days and overall had a great experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, with a relaxing jungle vibe that makes it easy to unwind. "The ocean was barely visible from our room and we had NO outside furniture. The room was remodeled in 2023 but it had a lot to be desired, the shower flooded the whole bathroom everytime we showered because of very poor design. The front desk woman that checked us in had an attitude and left nothing on our not getting a room before she left with anyone at the front desk, this caused a lot of confusion. "This place was paradise. Stayed for 4 nights in a beachside suite with my daughter. So peaceful and safe. Often left the door unlocked. Hammock on the balcony and easy barefoot walk to the beach cabanas. The staff were kind and helpful. Fabian took care of security and maintenance and checked us in when we arrived after hours. Alex was in the cafe and was cheerful and helpful each day. Griselda cleaned our room for us and was a delight to talk to. I can’t wait to return! "
