"Needed a hotel to stay in the Isle of Man for a re-union of colleagues that I used to work with. The aim was to ride all the narrow gauge trains and trams on the Island and do some walking. The Claremont was a really choice. I only had bed and breakfast; the breakfast's were really good as was my hotel room. No sea view but as I was out all day, it wasn't a problem. The cost was very competitive and even cheaper than some three star hotels!"
"A very well appointed hotel on the Seafront of Douglas. Staff freindly and restaurant was very good. French style menu. The hotel has kept its early years character whilst implementing modern touches to compliment the decor. Room was spacious and again well appointed with all you need, tea/coffee making, flat screen tv, fridge with water snd plenty sockets/ USB charge points. Highly recommend."

"We had an amazing time! Hotel is lovely, clean and well presented; the owners can't do enough for you! We could not fault this hotel, everything was as you would expect from a 4 star property. Our bedroom was spacious, lovely high power shower, ample space for your belongings and a cosy sofa ideal for watching TV. "The host couldn't have done more for us. The Melrose is convenient for the shops although there was a short uphill walk to get back. The room although compact was clean, the bedding was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good, cereal, orange juice, Tea or coffee and a full english and there was also the offer of Manx kippers if you wanted them.. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms but that is typical of the B&Bs in Douglas. If I have one slight criticism it's that...
"The guest house was in a good location just off the promenade. Room was spotless and in very good condition. Bed was very comfortable and made daily. Room was well appointed. Breakfast each morning was high quality and everything was freshly made. Dora the proprietor was very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble if needed some assistance. I would definitely stay there again if in Douglas and would recommend to family and friends. "
