"This was a stay en route to Cornwall. We’ve stayed a few times before. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and breakfast though I feel a few cut-backs have been applied which aren’t what we expected of this quality of hotel. A couple of other issues were instantly addressed."

When the meals came they were small portions and and overcooked (steak & chips). They did appear to be short-staffed. "Fabulous adults only property with stunning spa facilities. Excellent food, reasonable bar prices and friendly staff. We did ask to move rooms and (loud dripping from drainpipes just outside the room which was very annoying given the pouring rain) this was accommodated immediately. Nice to park in the hotel grounds, but £15 per day is a little excessive, although appreciate it is secure and monitored. Heated towel rail in the bathroom is way too small to accommodate bath towels and spa towel,...

"Could have done with an extra pillow and maybe a mattress topper on the bed but otherwise everything was great. Very good value. Very helpful when we had to check in late. "

"Very nice older/traditional style hotel in a lovely position. Outdoor pool was perfect for the kids. Good walking distance into Torquay also - kids managed it fine, twice there and back! Great size family room. Would recommend. "

"Beds are comfortable and there are tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms are clean and there is plenty of hot water. Car parking is easy. They provide a fan which was useful as the traffic is a bit noisy to have the window open. Curtains are very thin so the room is light from early morning. They don’t offer a cooked breakfast on Wednesday or Thursday mornings but there is a continental choice of toast, pastries, cereal and yoghurt.
