On the way back down after we had climbed Scafell Pike we took this beautiful route to Wasdale Head and Wastwater. Nothing makes you feel quite so insignificant as being in this vast landscape. Can't emphasise enough, even though pathways are well marked please don't forget that it's still climbing a mountain! Go prepared with plenty of layers and the right kit, and don't be the reason that mountain rescue have to risk their own lives to save yours. #LakeDistrict #England #TakeAHike #NationalPark

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect – the kind of stay that leaves you wanting to come back even before you've checked out! The Location: Absolutely unbeatable. Nestled right in the heart of Ambleside, the hotel is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Our room overlooked a gorgeous waterfall, and waking up to the soothing sound of flowing water and a view of the hills was pure magic. It felt like a peaceful, luxurious escape wrapped in nature. The Room: Wow – our room was massive! Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and designed for real comfort. It had everything we needed and more. "Lovely hotel, currently undergoing refurbishment. But no impact on experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of nice touches in the room. I have already recommended it to several people and I will certainly return. We were a family of 5 and the kids also remarked on how impressive it was, they enjoyed playing tennis and having a swim after dinner. Food was wonderful with an excellent choice, we enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast. *Highly recommend *"
