"Other than the few updates needed, it’s a decent place to stay. My family stays here because we’re a family of 5 and need the space and the kitchen to save on eating out every single day. My children enjoy the resort activities (pool, basketball, putt putt golf, corn hole)."

"DO NOT STAY HERE!! The facility was unattended in the early evening with a man armed with a rifle with scope wandering in and out of the adjacent woods, often within 15 feet of our window. A call to the front desk was sent to voicemail. We left our room key and a note at the desk, fled the grounds, and notified the local police. We contacted management the next day, spoke to an apologetic manager who was completely unaware of the events. She later reviewed security footage and assured us it was couple of men “fooling around “, target shooting with BB rifles. We were promised a prompt refund for aborted stay, which was later denied. THIS FACILITY IS NOT SAFE AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE."

"We return to this pet friendly, secluded spot every year! It’s the best escape and disconnect if you’re looking to relax and clear your mind! Highly recommend Surry Seafood for a nice dinner out (about 12-15min from the house), but recommend bringing groceries, because you truly won’t want to leave once you arrive. We already look forward to our stay next year!"

"This beautiful home housed three generations of eight adults with ease and charm. We each had plenty of room to relax on our own, but more importantly we were able to gather for meals and in the evening to sit and chat with each other. (Also, even with so many people, we never ran out of hot water!) The house has something unique to look at in literally every corner and on every wall. The grounds are spectacular with the beautiful garden as the crown jewel! We wanted historic charm for this trip, but we got so much more than expected. The host, Cliff, was so responsive and there was easy to follow instructions, tips and history about the home and area right inside the foyer. To top it all off, every space in and out had fresh flowers (even the mudroom!) Such a sweet touch. This is a one of a kind experience and home."
