"It was small but had everything I needed. An instruction book for the combi oven/microwave would have been handy, and a rail to hang my clothes on. Very good shower. I did have problems locking the door from both the inside and outside. Great views, even though it was on the A66 it was very quiet."

"No contact, no one to advise which property we were in. Tried contacting, but very difficult to contact owner. Once inside no kettle or toaster, no welcome pack, no internet, phone signal. Microwave was broken. No screen for shower. Was promised internet etc would be sorted , but it wasn’t. Would not recommend this property."

"We loved our visit to Herdwick House. The massive field at the front of the property was ideal for our kids to chuck a ball and run around. Kept the adults busy too. Everyone was exhausted every night and slept well. Kids loved the bunk room. Plenty of space. Thank you"

"Overall good, but there was a major issue with the indoor hot tub, there were two electric sockets in the room with water vapour and splashes near it, its illegal to have them in bathrooms. plus on the last day my I had a shock from the fuse next to the sockets, if this had have happened on the first day we would not have used the tub. We left a note about this and informed cottages.com and await a response. The hot tub cover was also torn and ripped and it did not have a cover lever arm,...
