"Great place to stay in the goon area"

"This is a great location right in Gion, and a classic Japanese style in. We ended up booking two days, one with the meal plan and one without. The meal was very well prepared traditional Japanese fare, everything tasted very good and was well prepared. The service in the room was very cool as well. "We were so close to transport, dining and shopping yet we felt like we were a world away in a traditional ryokan with beautiful breakfasts and futon bedding with rice paper walls blocking out the cold and street traffic noise. "If you want an old old style, real Japanese experience with a lovely tatanmi room with easy access to central Kyoto, then it's great. We loved it. Very little English spoken (not a problem for us), and could be difficult to find if you don't arrive by taxi, but we really enjoyed our stay."
