"Like the cafe/bar in the basement. The 2 buildings across the street from each other makes it a bit inconvenient, for instance, to get to the kitchen from hostel room if they are located in different buildings. Otherwise, clean, nice, comfortable."

"Very well organized, everyone was friendly, loved the no shoes policy and provided slippers!, the communal living room space with tables and couches to relax on, the large kitchen and refrigerator to access, and the rooms/beds were great too. Very easy to find, close to metro and bus routes, near the river too which is so pretty! Would stay again!"

"We had a family of 4 stay in a room with a double bunk bed and it had a small table in the room. Each bed had outlets close by and adequate space. Clothes hanging rack was nice to hang rain coats to dry off. 2nd floor common eating area was nice to have a place to eat and store food. Small market across the street for easy access for purchases. Very close to train station for walking and large shopping area within a mile. "

Excellent location for being nearby a lot of food and fun, but off a small street so it is not loud and is very peaceful. I would stay here again and recommend highly. "I was so pleased with Hostel Mundo! It has the style of a traditional Japanese home, with all the comforts that come along with that. That means snug rooms with sleeping cushions on tatami mat floors, a warm home-like environment in the common quarters, and a welcoming staff that is knowledgeable about the surrounding area of Kyoto.
