It's a secret. While the bigger cities become so over crowded with tourists, Padua offers more relaxing surroundings and space, yet with so many old structures and narrow streets. It exceeded my expectations. Tram system was excellent.

Padova is a lovely small city with great sites including the Basilica and the Giotto chapel. Highly recommend it for a non touristy Italian experience. Great restaurants too including an excellent one a few doors from the hotel!

Not very high on the tourist map, perfect for a relaxing 2 days just seeing the city. It's 30 mins to Venezia and similar to Vincenzo. Verona is a little bit further.

"Still good location even though you will need to take the vaporetto (boat bus) or people mover (tram) to get to venice centre. No restaurant around the area and decent mercato, so if you like having snacks or drinks. Please buy them at the city centre and take them in to your room. The hotel offers somes snack but very limited choices. "
"Hotel Abbazia was a gem—super conveniently located to public transportation (railway station and Piazzale Roma) and the Grand Canal but set back on a quiet side street. The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. Room was great—comfortable bed, effective AC, reasonably priced."

"Old world charm with modern amenities like private baths and a lovely breakfast included. It was the perfect send off having coffee on the Grand Canal. Staff was friendly and polite. I did ask about airport transfer and was only given two pricy options, I would also have appreciated something along the lines of "...also the bus station is a less than 10 minute walk with an express bus." That is my only ding...but I get it and it's more a buyer beware comment. I was there one night and I really loved the space and Venice!"
