"The was absolutely no access to the internet either in the rooms or the public areas. I also was bitten by a bed bug from the extra bedding in the room cupboard. "The hotel staff and people were spectacular! Breakfast was traditional Japanese style food, which may or may not suit westerners. Hotel is a bit dated and it shows. Our room was clean upon arrival; however, we encountered bugs and mosquitoes inside our 3rd floor room. This didn’t particularly bother us, but it may have an impact on other guests. Super friendly and the room seemed to be recently renovated and the hotel has some sections that we getting updated and will be even better for the next visit. Dinner was fabulous. "Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "

"The owner came and picked us up from the bus terminal! He spoke very good English and was very warm and friendly! He then dropped us back at the bus terminal at the end of the trip. Our room had a shared bathroom, which I didn’t realise would be the shared showers in the onsen (no booths or privacy) so that might not be for everyone when booking a room with shared bathroom. "I can not more highly recommend Shirouma So! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was very comfortable and perfectly situated near the bus terminal, Happo One, and restaurants. The onsen was the perfect way to finish a day on the slopes. The food was excellent and there was plenty of variety - while breakfast is set, it is different every day. I would definitely stay here again!"
