"Amazing onsen! I booked a room with a private open air onsen for end of March 2024 and was blown away at how nice my room and the entire hotel was. The facility was impeccable, food was good, staff was super nice and my room was so great. I was only there two nights and regret not staying longer. I will definitely come back to this onsen. "I never leave reviews but this was truly unforgettable. We booked the private onsen room on the first floor. Simply incredible, the ultimate ryokan experience. The room, onsen, and views were beautiful. On top of that, the staff were outstanding. The dinner and breakfast in the private dining room were delicious. We were served a spread of local food that was unlike anything we have ever had. Truly the highlight of our first trip to Japan. We hope to return one day."

"Felt like an authentic japanese place to stay. The floor boards are a little squeaky and place is far from new but this place was perfect for us, the onsen was nice (male separated from female). We tiok some pics of ourselves in the provided japanese bathrobes, downstairs there is an area where a traditional fireplace would be which was great for photos."

"Charming, very well run traditional Inn with great amenities and features. Great location with valley views and easy access to old town and a short walk to the Hida Village. Laundry facilities are great. Caretaker/owner is wonderful. Definitely eat the traditional meals offered (western and Japanese options), they will be a highlight of your trip!"
