"We were upgraded to a very nice ocean view room after pointing out that the garden view was of an active building site. The room was quite finished - ensuite screwed shut and no gas in the BBQ at first. The manager had to defer to HQ before being able to upgrade. The location was stunning! A beautiful beach (dolphins one day one!) Great location for other beach areas e.g. cathedral cove (walk) and hot water beach (drive). Probably the highlight of our visit to the North Island."

"The peace and tranquility was amazing"

"Such a great place to stay for visiting Hot water Beach as well as cathedral rock. They have towels and spades for your use, and maps. We walked to Cathedral Rock and it was a great walk. The Church bistro next to the property is outstanding. Reservations recommended. Also right across the street is kayak rental and a pub very close by. Room is really well appointed and the amenities are great. Our room was quite private and peaceful(1 bedroom cottage)."

"Room and common area are cosy (no shoes allowed). Common kitchen area is spacious, although utensils are hits and miss. Room is clean Environment is good and very handy, as all the local shops are just around the corner. Laundry facilities available."

"Great stay"

"Good value for money, just a short drive to the main shopping area."

"We had a really good stay. Clean, comfortable and view is great. Only minutes away from town. Host was friendly and helpful with recommendations as well."

"Great location, right across from the beach and easy walk to the shops. Great apartment with everything you need. We will definitely be back!"

"Our hosts were remarkable and very friendly. We even received some Easter eggs. Breakfast was sumptuous with plenty to choose from. Thank you so much for looking after us. Violeta and Tony"

"Staff was friendly and nice. Free shovel for rent. Room was okay, access to balcony/ back yard, working heater! Bathroom was small and needed some upgrade."

"Accommodations are tight for three adults but overall great value and great location!"

"Great room right on the beach"

"Great stay and property."

"A dryer would be nice. Very nice staff. Accommodating. Location a big plus."

"The chalets in the bush were beautiful, however there’s no lifts or parking near your room. So you had to carry your suitcases to your room and walk up & down the hill to reach your car. The breakfast was disappointing. I expected a lot more from a Mercure hotel."

"The room, bathroom, and kitchenette were very clean. Big plus included a little private balcony with great views onto the bay. Check-in was handled via the phone and the manager came a bit later to check if everything was ok. Parking was free. All in all, a nice place to stay."
