"The beds, room and kitchen were clean and comfortable. The management here has clearly made an effort to make guests comfortable. Amenities that one would expect at a 4- or 5-star motel, like new towels, toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, coffee and coffee maker, campfire and firewood, iron, and more are here. Like many Catskill inns, the Starlite is showing its age after decades of use and generations of tourists. It badly needs a reno. There is still a market for a 2-star strip motel...

"This was our second time at Hope Lake Lodge. First time in the winter. Resort was great. Kids enjoyed the waterpark (and even liked being in the pool outside).
Skiing
conditions were amazing (we came in right after the first big snow of the season). Staff is super friendly. Looking forward to coming back next winter."

"Comments on both good and bad. There were icy spots on the walkway to our room which could have caused a serious fall. The bathroom was warm and appeared upgraded But the water pressure in the shower was very weak. Bath towels were small. My biggest complaint was the TV was OLD school. A small flat screen would have been nice. Lighting in the room was weak. The room was very warm. A very nice breakfast."

No worries though, the owner plowed us out the first time and this time had plenty of space for parking when we arrived. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable and plenty of amenities to ensure we had the basics covered to be able to enjoy our weekend."

The area is just perfect to be able to "unplug" from it all. Although there is enough entertainment close by if you wish: lo-tech games & books to read. Plus there is wifi if you have to jump online for anything. The only caveat is, especially if you're riding motorcycles (I'm talking big, cruiser style bikes), there is a long dirt road to get...
