"Very spacious and comfortable terraced house. Large main bedroom with King size and sofa, second bedroom double. Nice big, well furnished living and dining room with electric fire. Small and somewhat cold kitchen to the rear let down by old electric oven. Step stairs so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Bishop Auckland has lots of interest in the area but is a town of very mixed fortunes."

This was a beautiful facility and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is great if you are into country living, since it is a working farm about a five minute drive from the nearest town. Just be sure to ask for the correct postal code before going because the one given by Hotels.com is incorrect.

Parking was in a disconnected garage across a street and behind the building. Drop off bags at the front before heading to parking which is uphill and at least 200 yards away if not further.
Hotel is accessed via a private road so our gps expressed an alert about that but there was no restriction on driving it.
Drive to airport was very convenient and about 20 minutes. Convenient gas station access along the route.

Large rooms. But I didn't use the kitchen, large refrigerator, and few of the amenities possible. The breakfasts were great. Everybody at the property was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was excellent great choice. And you would be Renz not to eat in the restaurant there. It is very popular with many of the locals and there is a reason for that. The food is excellent. There are great portions and it is nice just to sit in a cozy English pub to eat.

This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.
