The location is very close to the sea, which gives the hotel a real resort-like atmosphere. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. "The position of the hotel is ideal for train and bus services to the rest of the island. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a variety of options and was delicious. Lots of stairs but there is a lift. Our room was spacious a little dated but clean apart from the window which is opposite the Hovercraft landing so there is quite a lot of debris from the sand."

"We had stayed at SH decades ago when our kids were little. I chose to revisit with my wife last weekend to celebrate my 64th birthday. The hotel has a slight quirkiness due to its personal service but that is a big part of its charm. We had a beautiful meal in Aquitaine and lovely breakfasts in the bistro. Our room in the annex was a beautiful, spacious, spotless room with SuperKing bed, fabulous en-suite with special shower-bath. All the staff have genuine and generous interest and care for the guests. The hotel location in sleepy Seaview is perfect for us. We did a fantastic walk along the coast from the SH one day with a packed lunch from Lily’s Cafe 100m up the High Street. We were also able to visit many lovely places on the island, all within a maximum of 1hr drive. We’ll be back."
