The Elizabeth Hubert Malott Japanese Garden

One of many, many scenic vistas to be found while strolling through the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Looking for an escape from the usual tourists activities while visiting Chicago? Located about 30 miles north of the City, the Gardens are absolutely worth the effort to get there.

The Chicago Botanic Garden opened a little more than 40 years ago. Last year, more than one million people visited the Garden's 26 gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on 385 acres on and around nine islands, with six miles of lake shoreline. The Garden also has a renowned Bonsai Collection.
