"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality. Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. Location and property are absolutely beautiful, but unwalkable from downtown Franschhoek, so you'll need a rental car or us their recommended taxi service via Whatsapp if you plan to drink lots of wine. Uber was not reliable in this area. The staff were very nice and the breakfast options were good, but limited. I would highly recommend this location. "

"Had an amazing 2 night stay here, the location is incredible, set against the mountains with an endless view across the desert. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, rooms are great with good AC, especially liked the terrace off the room where you can watch the sunset, sunsets here are incredible. The breakfast and dinner was ok, not amazing, but the location and staff made up for the food quality. "
