"Comfortable rooms with blackout curtains and good sound proofing to ensure a good night's sleep. There was some road noise since the hotel only has 5-6 floors, however it was not a busy road. They had a good sized bathroom with separate bath area and excellent amenities. The hotel has an entrance from the Kyoto train station, and is close to many shopping centres and restaurants. Overall I was happy with the place and would recommend it."

"Great location. Wish they had larger rooms for families having more than 3 persons. This is great place for a couple to stay. Breakfast is really good with 3 traditional Japanese options or an American option."

"Umekoji Potel is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've stayed in! The hotel was incredibly easy to get to and from Kyoto station (as Umekoji is one stop away) our room was amazing with a fantastic view of the park. The staff were amazing from the moment we stepped through the door and were always keen to help us when needed. The facilities are excellent and it was lovely to have different spaces to relax in other than our room. Incredibly family-friendly as well. Thanks for the lovely time! "

"A great place to stay when you don't have a lot of time in Kyoto. Only a 2 minute walk from the train station, buses and taxis. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable and roomy and the staff sweet. We were very happy with our one night there before heading back to the states."
